And here's the space that keeps me out of trouble.
One thing I've missed so much in 2020 are Big Medium's studio tours--two city-wide celebrations of this city's thriving art scene. Each May for the past several years, I've joined my friend and jeweler Stefanie Fix for the West Studio Tour. We love making new friends over boxed wine and brie, showing our work, and making a few important sales.
But in this bizarre and anxiety-producing year, my hat is tipped to Big Medium for finding a way to produce a virtual East/West tour this month. I'll miss sharing that glass of rose, but I'm happy to go along for the ride and see where it takes us.
As part of this virtual event, I've whipped up two videos that will live on long after the tour. In this first video, I welcome you into the strange little space that keeps me out of trouble--my happy place--to learn how the work has evolved check out this year's directional detour.
And for fans of my hand-cast concrete bowls, this one's for you. ;-)
If you miss this month's official Big Medium Virtual Studio Tour, please visit this website's store for an up-to-date look at all the available canvases and concrete bowls. And, if you'd like a better look at any piece, I'm always happy to Zoom. Drop me a line to get the conversation started!
And thanks for loving art. I can't wait to see you at a real-world show.
